Total renovation of a 40m2 appartment near the « Collège des Bernardins » in the 5th arrondissement of Paris.
It is located at the 3rd floor of a XVIIth century building looking south. The goal was to transforml a studio which hadn’t been renovated for around 100 years (no real bathroom or kitchen) into a nice one bedroom for a young foreigner who had decided live in Paris
We searched to enhance the charm of the antique style, playing with the lignt and contrasts while optimising the space. We created a room without closing the space and giving it more ‘cachet’ with a « verrière d’artiste » inserted between the wooden girders which permits to keep the perspective of the 3 big windows and seems naturally inserted in the decoration. The kitchen is modern and visually seperated from the living room thanks to a false ceiling that limits the space and permits a hamonious contrast.
