Fitting out of an old wharehouse of 65m2 in a cultural center, in the area of the Bastille in Paris
It is located on the ground floor of a typical building of the 19th century of the area which has been dedicated to furniture making for centuries. The place had been abandonned for many years. A single bulb was hanging from the ceiling, the floor was of sand and earth and the facade was falling apart. The challenge was to transform this space in a cultural center with lots of different activities (expositions, conferences, yoga clases, film projections, shows, theatre, business meetings, etc) with a limited budget.
We researched to create a space with a sensation of volume, clear and warm, where the energy could flow. We started by creating a big façade in a modernized « verrière d’artiste » of the area with a compact kitchen and bar that fits perfectly the space adding to it a welcoming impression. The floor in clear oak, the smoked mirrors and the monochrome walls very lightly tinted in grey sums up to the impression of volume and elegance.
